You can get your digital address in Ghana using the GhanaPostGPS app on your phone. It helps you identify the location of your home or business and makes it easier to give someone directions.
What Is a GhanaPostGPS Digital Address?
GhanaPostGPS is Ghana’s official digital property addressing system. It divides the country into 5m by 5m squares, each with a unique address.
For example, AK-039-5028 is the digital address for the Kumasi Main Post Office. AK-039 identifies the postcode area, while 5028 identifies the specific location within it.
How Do I Get My Digital Address?
- Download GhanaPostGPS from Google Play or the Apple App Store.
- Open the app and follow the registration prompts shown.
- Turn on your phone’s location and allow the app to access it.
- Stand in front of the property whose address you need, then use the app to retrieve your current location’s digital address.
- Check the location accuracy before writing down the full address.
GhanaPostGPS recommends aiming for accuracy within 3 metres. See its official help guide for more details.
Is GhanaPostGPS Free?
Yes. Downloading and using the addressing app is free, although mobile data charges apply.
What Happens If I Move?
The address belongs to the location. When you move, retrieve the address at your new home instead of using the old one.
What If the App Does Not Work?
Check your internet connection and location permissions. For login or verification problems, contact Ghana Post through the support details on its official app listing.
