You can buy MTN Ghana shares (MTNGH) through the Black Star app or IC Securities using IC Wealth. Choose one route below, complete account verification and place an order for MTNGH on the Ghana Stock Exchange.

You do not need both platforms. This guide explains the process; share prices can fall and returns are not guaranteed. Screen labels can change, so follow the instructions shown in your account.

Option 1: Buy through the Black Star app

1. Get the official app

Visit Black Star Group or open its official listings on Google Play or the Apple App Store. Look for Black Star – A better way.

2. Register and complete verification

Create your account and complete the identity checks. Have your Ghana Card ready. Check eligibility first, particularly if you live abroad; Black Star’s terms exclude US persons.

3. Add money

Follow the funding instructions inside your account, using a payment source in your own name. Wait for cleared funds sufficient for the purchase and fees.

4. Choose MTN Ghana

Use Active Invest, Black Star’s self-directed trading service. Locate the Ghana-listed shares and select MTN Ghana / MTNGH. Choose the buy action and enter the order details requested.

5. Review, submit and track

Check the company, quantity or amount, price instructions and charges before submitting. Keep the electronic trade confirmation; an order may be delayed or only partly filled.

Where are the shares held? Black Star describes pooled CSD custody by default, with client-level ownership records. A personal CSD account may be requested subject to approval. Read its official terms or ask support about your arrangement.

Option 2: Buy through IC Securities using IC Wealth

1. Open IC Wealth

Go to IC Wealth’s Stocks page. Select Register or Start Trading if you are new, or Login if you already have an account.

2. Activate share trading

Make sure your account is enabled for stock trading. IC’s instructions require an IC Securities client account and a CSD share-trading account. Complete the requested account forms and identity checks.

If you only have access to a fund, or your stock account is awaiting approval, contact IC before sending money for shares. The current Stocks page lists [email protected] and 0308 250 051 / 0302 745 116.

3. Fund your purchase

Follow IC’s funding instructions for your stock account. MTN’s official guide confirms the sequence: open the CSD account, provide documents, fund the investment account and instruct the broker to buy.

4. Place the MTNGH order

IC’s online trading FAQ describes a Buy/Sell button after login. Select MTN Ghana, choose to buy and enter the quantity and other required order details. Review the price instructions, expiry and total charges before confirming.

5. Check completion

Look for the execution confirmation and contract note, then check your holdings. A submitted order still needs a matching seller; funding it does not guarantee immediate execution.

Before pressing Buy on either platform

  • Check the symbol: MTNGH is the Ghana-listed share.
  • Read the total: leave room for fees rather than spending your entire balance on the share value.
  • Check the status: pending, executed and settled describe different stages.
  • Keep records: save the order reference and trade confirmation.

A useful support message: “I want to buy MTN Ghana shares. Is my account enabled for GSE trading? How do I fund it, what is the minimum order and what are the total charges?”

If MTNGH or a trading option is missing, contact the platform’s official support. Do not select a different product simply because it carries the same provider’s name.

Based on official provider documentation checked on 10 September 2026. This is a documentation-based guide; account approval, available screens and fees may vary.
